WE WANT TO WISH YOU A HAPPY NURSES WEEK!
We know it, we love it, it’s National Nurses Week except this year is different than the others for various and obvious reasons. It’s Year of the Nurse, It’s Nurses Month, Nurses appreciation week and Nurses Appreciation day! All Healthcare workers are more vital now during this pandemic. It’s a double-edged sword; Healthcare workers are getting the appreciation and recognition they deserve but it’s just too bad it took a global pandemic to do so. Bask in the appreciation, let the love and adoration pour all over you this year and soak it all in. You is kind, you is special, you is important and you is essential.
Where did Nurses Week come from?
Nurse’s Week was inspired by the one and only Florence Nightingale, whose knowledge of statistics and attention to detail helped bring to light the faults in the current design and practices of hospitals of the time. She dedicated her life to reforming healthcare after the Crimean War.
American Nurses Association (ANA) supports what we now know as Nurses Week which provides an opportunity to give recognition and appreciation to nurses around the world and helps educate the public on the impact nurses have on our health and the prevention of disease.
Nurses are a special kind of people; having to be skillful, empathetic, caring, have excellent communication practices, compassionate and resourceful. From all of us at OneStaff Medical, we thank you for your work. No matter the circumstances, you come back to work day in and day out to be there for your patients. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to work with each of you and we look forward to celebrating you and all nurses, this year and on.
“All of the nurses out there deserve additional recognition this year, during National Nurses Week 2020, for all they are battling on the frontlines during an unprecedented pandemic. This is such a historical time in the world, and you all are truly in the front lines. Everyday superheroes. Sincerely, thank you all, for everything you have done and continue to do.” –Jack Swinney, CEO of OneStaff Medical
