31 WAYS TO STAY ENTERTAINED WHILE SELF-QUARANTINED

As the Pandemic is spreading across the country, it is advised to stay home and self-quarantine. Doing so can prevent the spread of the virus and protect those who are vulnerable from coming in contact. If you are infected and reap the symptoms, obviously rest, drink lots of fluids and take care of yourself. But if you are self-quarantined at home for a prolonged period of time, it is important to keep your mind, body and soul active and healthy.

LET’S STAY SANE YA’LL.
 

First off, if you are working from home for a while, it is important to remain productive. Create a space in your home or apartment that is just for work. Somewhere you can be free from distractions and still get things done. 

 

EAT HEALTHY-ISH
  • As amazing as it would be, calories DO count during a self-quarantine. Be sure to eat as healthy as you can with fruits, vegetables, proteins and whole grains. Now is not the time to rely on pizza rolls and cheese puffs. 

  • Pull out that recipe book that has been collecting dust and try out a new recipe! You may find a new fave.

  • Get your Bake on. As important as it is to eat healthy, it is okay to indulge a bit. 

 

STAY ACTIVE
  • Maintain regular activity on a daily basis.

  • Yoga/Pilates/body weight workouts

    • Endless resources on youtube

    • At home workout apps

  • Take 10 minutes out of the day to stretch your muscles, especially if you've been bed ridden or a couch potato. 

  • Feeling well enough? Go out for a hike or bike ride, two outdoor activities with minimal contact with others. 

 

GET CREATIVE
  • Tap into some old hobbies that you never have time for anymore

  • Draw a picture

  • Paint a masterpiece 

  • Work on a puzzle

  • Did somebody say LEGOS?!

  • Build your dream home on The Sims

 

LEARN SOMETHIN’ 

 

GET IT TOGETHER
  • Time forced at home is a great opportunity to get your live ‘together’ 

  • Spring Clean and Disinfect your home

  • Reorganize EVERYTHING

  • Go through your closet and drawers and try on your clothes and prepare to donate what doesn’t fit

  • Re-work your budget and organize finances

  • Take a bubble bath

  • Treat your skin to a facemask

  • FLOSS for once in your life

 

STAY CONNECTED
  • Video Chat with friends and family

  • Start a Tik Tok account (and follow @onestaff_medical)

  • Pull out your parchment, quill and ink and write your loved ones some classic snail mail

  • Have some good quality fun with all of the board games, all day everyday
